(JUBA) – The leadership of Juba International Airport has introduced a new shuttle bus service aimed at improving the movement of passengers within the airport and enhancing overall travel efficiency.
The initiative is designed to provide safe, reliable, and convenient transport for passengers travelling between the terminal building and aircraft parking areas.
Airport authorities said the new system will improve comfort for travellers while also supporting more efficient operations during passenger boarding and arrival processes.
The introduction of shuttle buses forms part of ongoing efforts to modernise airport services and improve customer satisfaction at South Sudan’s main international gateway, according to a press release by the Aviation Authority.
Juba International Airport handles the highest volume of air traffic in the country, serving domestic and international passengers as well as cargo operations linked to trade and humanitarian logistics.
Officials said improving ground transport within the airport is expected to reduce delays, improve coordination between flight operations and passenger movement, and strengthen overall service delivery.
The airport management added that the upgrade is aligned with broader plans to improve infrastructure and operational standards across South Sudan’s aviation sector.
Passenger experience has remained a key focus area for aviation authorities as demand for air travel continues to grow in the country.
Industry observers note that improved internal transport systems at airports can help reduce congestion, improve safety, and support smoother turnaround times for aircraft operations.
The shuttle service is expected to be integrated into daily airport operations and will serve both arriving and departing passengers.
Airport officials said the initiative reflects a continued commitment to improving efficiency and aligning services with international airport operational practices.
Juba International Airport plays a central role in South Sudan’s transport network, supporting government travel, business movement, and essential supply chains.
