(JUBA, CENTRAL EQUATORIA) – The Juba Electric Distribution Company has announced a temporary disruption in its electricity token vending system, affecting customers in the capital.
The utility said the system is currently experiencing a technical error that has interrupted the issuance of electricity tokens. As a result, customers are temporarily unable to purchase or receive tokens through the usual service channels.
In a public notice, JEDCO expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and stated that the issue had been escalated to its information and communication technology team for urgent attention. The company indicated that efforts are underway to restore the system as quickly as possible.
JEDCO further assured customers that normal service will resume once the technical problem is resolved. It added that all affected customers will be attended to immediately after restoration of the platform.
The utility also acknowledged the importance of uninterrupted access to electricity services, noting that the token system is central to prepaid electricity supply in the city.
Despite the interruption, JEDCO maintained that its customer service teams remain engaged and committed to resolving the issue while keeping the public informed on progress.
