(JUBA) – The newly formed Board of Directors of the South Sudan Revenue Authority held its first ordinary meeting in Juba, where members reviewed revenue performance for the third quarter of the 2025 to 2026 financial year and approved a series of senior leadership appointments across key departments.

The session, chaired by Board Chairperson David Deng Athorbei, focused on strengthening institutional leadership structures within the revenue body as part of broader efforts to improve domestic revenue collection and enhance administrative efficiency.

Board members examined the qualifications, professional experience, and work background of officials who had been serving in acting capacities before confirming them into permanent roles.

Lino Ajang Ajang was confirmed as Commissioner for Domestic Tax Revenue. John Mading Bol was confirmed as Commissioner for Customs Revenue. Hakim Makuach Dukuei was confirmed as Commissioner for Corporate Services. Lejukole Noel Marle was confirmed as Commissioner for Legal Services and Board Affairs.

At deputy commissioner level, Mou Bol Abiem was confirmed as Deputy Commissioner for Information Technology. Joyce Digi John was confirmed as Deputy Commissioner for Revenue Accounting, Verification and Reconciliation. Santino Ayok Ring was confirmed as Deputy Commissioner for Administration and Finance. Juliet Yaiya Mangok Kuot was confirmed as Deputy Commissioner for Tax Audit and Compliance.

The Board also used the meeting to assess revenue performance for the third quarter and discuss operational challenges affecting collection efficiency, compliance levels, and service delivery across departments.

Members emphasised the need for improved systems and coordination within the Authority to support stronger revenue mobilisation at national level, particularly as fiscal pressures continue to shape public financial management priorities.
